„One of our second investment program stages is implemented, says Mr. Jonas Sirvydis, Achema SC General Director. With this project, investments of which reaches almost 30 million EUR, we are on the way the production's manufacturing expansion to be implemented."
Value of the second investment program started in 2005 accounts to almost 0,15 billion EUR, 30 percent of these funds are allocated to environmental conservation projects. The program encompasses construction of new and modernization of existing units, saving of energy resources and pollution reduction. Equipment modernization and capacity expansion projects have been already accomplished: isothermal ammonia storage, modern ammonia production unit no. 2, new methanol production plant, new nitric acid production unit, urea production plant upgrade, etc. New cogeneration plant No.2 projects is already en route, and is planned to launch in 2011.
The first Lithuanian urea was produced 38 years ago in 1971. The new urea production unit construction was started in 2007, is licensed by "Snamprogetti (Italy), and works autonomously, producing the steam required for process emissions itself. Device management is fully automated; the unit also has deep chemically polluted water treatment system, directing the cleaned water back into production.
